Strong bodies: fitness & health

This blog will cover all city and statewide bodybuilding competitions and the out-of-state guest posers. Weight-loss success stories from local people, features/bios on bodybuilding, fitness and figure competitors, coverage of fad diets. Nutritious recipes and reviews on local gyms and health food stores. I would also like to cover Adult/Childhood Obesity in America and specifically,Alaska. Weight-lifting techniques/safety as well as the benefits for women. This is just a general idea, as the blog will be constantly evolving.

Stephanie Figarelle

I competed in my first bodybuilding competition as a senior at East High in 2000 and after winning the overall title, bodybuilding and fitness became my passion. I've been a NASM certified personal trainer since 2004 and I love helping people achieve their goals with fitness and proper nutrition. My overall bodybuilding titles include: Ms. Anchorage 2006 and The Anchorage Crystal Cup 2007. I have lived in Anchorage since 1988.

Setting goals to maintain the new you!

Most people get extremely motivated to lose weight when they have a significant event to attend, such as a wedding or a vacation where skimpy attire is desired. The motivation to get fit is strong it seems...until you actually get there. What happens the day after when there's no longer a reason to workout and eat right?

A vacation is alway a great incentive to get in shape, but what happens when the fun is over?A vacation is alway a great incentive to get in shape, but what happens when the fun is over?

Upon making plans to lose weight and get fit, you must first understand that doing so is not a hobby or a temporary change. It has to be something you implement into your life and put at the top of your priority list between working and having a social life. Once you accept that taking care of your body and your health are priorities, then exercise and healthy eating will become as habit forming as all of your other daily activities.

Getting onstage to compete is one of the best goals you can set for yourself!Getting onstage to compete is one of the best goals you can set for yourself!

Next you must have ongoing goals set out for after the big event is over. These goals will give you new motivation and drive you each day. Not only that, you will be inspired to build on or maintain the healthy new way of life you have created. If you would still like to lose excess body fat when you get home, construct a list of new short and long term goals to help facilitate your weight-loss endeavor.

For example:
1) Another significant event such as a reunion, wedding or vacation is coming up. I can safely lose 1-2lbs. per week for the next 4 weeks.

2) A competition or athletic event is coming up. I need to get stronger, faster, leaner, etc. in order to improve my times/placings.

3) I need to lose weight to get off of a medication.

4) I want to live a longer, more fulfilling life and be around to watch my grandkids graduate college.

5) I want to ward off muscle atrophy, aging, osteoporosis, arthritis, etc. as I get older.

6) I want to improve my mood, energy levels and overall well-being.

7) I want to bring my A-Game to the table every single day for the rest of my life!

When setting goals, the sky is the limit! You REALLY can do anything you set your mind to.When setting goals, the sky is the limit! You REALLY can do anything you set your mind to.

You get the idea. But ultimately you want to ask MORE of yourself everyday, set your standards higher and higher as reach milestones. Make no excuses about skipping healthy meals or workouts, just do it. The sky is the limit!

LyondellBasell, the world's third-largest petrochemical company, is considering all restructuring options including filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.

"As we have said publicly, we are looking to restructure our debt and we are exploring all of our options. Filing for Chapter 11 is one of those options," spokeswoman Susan Moore said.

Earlier, there was a report in The Wall Street Journal that the company had told its lenders it is considering filing for bankruptcy protection. Granit and Granit Bazalt Granit

With little choice, she

With little choice, she beaches the vessel on the closest dry land -a tiny mud island. With a rising tide and only half an hour of daylight left, fear grips the group as they realize they are trapped in the lair of a ‘rogue’ crocodile, governed only by its need to hunt and kill. Begrudgingly, Pete and Kate join forces to keep hysteria at bay and in the process start to see beyond their initial impressions. Their first attempt to escape fails, but then Pete has an idea - they must trap the crocodile to enable the group to flee to the other side of the island whilst Kate swims for help. Pete volunteers to stand guard, but without warning, the beast breaks free and targets Kate who fails to resurface. As darkness descends and the muddy waters rise, a terrifying struggle ensues with only one probable outcome death. full length movies

Accountability

It is amazing what you can do when you change just a little at a time. That, and have someone to keep you accountable! Get people involved, it might end up you could be an inspiration to someone else.
