Alaska Politics Blog

This is the place to talk about Alaska politics -- state, local, national. Public life in the Last Frontier has probably never been more interesting than right now -- the governor as candidate for vice president, the broad and still-evolving corruption investigation, a big election, powerful members of Congress under scrutiny, and the usual hardball Alaska politics. Come here for news, tidbits and information, and join the discussion. Keep your comments civil and on point. Avoid personal attacks. Do not use profanity. "Alaska Maverick"

From Sean Cockerham in St. Paul --

Is the race between Obama and Palin?

You might think so by this new 30-second John McCain television ad. It's called "Alaska Maverick." Check it out:

Maverick???

Please. Shannyn Moore said that to be a Republican Maverick, all you need to do is NOT have your home searched by the FBI, NOT be indicted, and NOT be killing time in a federal prison.

Palin's popularity has much to do with the fact that she booted the most UNPOPULAR governor in history out the door. Frank Murkowski brought together Alaskans from the right, left and middle in their mutual hatred of him. Satan would have a great approval record following Fascist Frank.

Trouble is...a vote for Sarah is a vote for McCain. If McCain is elected, he will appoint 2 maybe 3 Supreme Court Justices. AND...McCain wants to more justices like Roberts and Alito! Just what we need-more rulings in favor of corporations instead of people.

Thank you, Gov. Palin

for standing tall for all Alaskans.

Standing tall?

More like blowing with the wind.
