Alaska Politics Blog

This is the place to talk about Alaska politics -- state, local, national. Public life in the Last Frontier has probably never been more interesting than right now -- the governor as candidate for vice president, the broad and still-evolving corruption investigation, a big election, powerful members of Congress under scrutiny, and the usual hardball Alaska politics. Come here for news, tidbits and information, and join the discussion. Keep your comments civil and on point. Avoid personal attacks. Do not use profanity. Posts that violate the Terms of Use will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned.

Streamed it briefly

Eddie the Grunt will always "toe the line" for Palin just like Headbob Lester (note hitman I left you off the list).

The Palin will not be able to pick and choose only the friendlies from here forward.

I like it

I'm not only the lap dog for the Governor... Heck i'm the lap dog for the next VP of the United States. What an honor. I would rather stand by Sarah Palin than an indicted felon or a Rough Cop or a guy who runs a half-wit blog or a radio talk show host who now is lost for words.

Grunt

Until you realize that being a lapdog for anyone is a problem you will remain Eddie the Grunt.

My Father was a Grunt

My Father was a Marine (Grunt) and was Shot twice in Korea as he escaped from a prison camp with a friend. The North Koreans in the "Chosin Reservoir" killed thousands of Marine Corp Grunts who served courageously with valor. Fortunately, my Father and his friend survived the escape.

From Bunker Hill to the sands of the Middle East the term “Grunt” has been used to described those who have given the most and demanded the least... or that work the hardest with the least praise, almost a term that was meant to be less-than or not as good as.

I do not deserve that honor to be called a "Grunt". That is reserved for Men and Women who served on the front lines while defending America. Those proud servants of our country know what it's like to have their best friends lay in their arms and die. I cannot stand that tall.

I was a US. Navy Aviation Structural Mech, 3rd Class Petty Officer with VA-165 NAS, Whidbey Isle--A6-E Intruder.

I had the luxury to sit off the coast aboard Aircraft Carriers and launch US. Aircraft into dangerous areas, But never did I earn the Honor to be called a “Grunt”, Sir!

In the future, please refrain from bestowing that Honor to someone who falls short. Simper Fi

Nice touch, Eddie!

We both know how it's spelled....but doing it as "Simper Fi" sure aims it directly at the heart of those simpering critics. I'm surprised nobody felt the thrust and complained so figured I should add a small twist!

Semper Fi, Bro!

Stand corrected

Thank you for the correction. I'm a product of the Anchorage School district.

Hey!

It wasn't attended as a correction!

I really thought you had cleverly executed a jab that was overlooked. It would have been a pity to let a good one like that go without it drawing a little blood!
