Anchorage Center Thompson Re-Ups With Bruins

Coming off a career season for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League in 2007-08, center Nate Thompson of Anchorage has re-signed with the NHL's Boston Bruins.

Thompson, 23, who played four games for the Boston Bruins in 2006-07, was a restricted free agent.

Thompson last season captained Providence and racked up a bunch of career highs: 75 games, 19 goals, 20 assists, 39 points and a +13 rating. His 2-3--5 totals in 10 Calder Cup playoff games also rated as his career highs in the postseason.

Thompson, who will be a fourth-year pro, was a sixth round draft pick of Boston's in 2003.
