Talkeetna toilet explosion

from Melodie Wright, Mat-Su reporter

According to a report on KTNA, Talkeetna's community radio station, there could be a connection between an exploding men's room toilet and the cancellation of the Girdwood Forest Festival.
The report, found here: http://ktna.org/topics.php?aid=658&pos=0, doesn't make a solid link but says organizers of the annual Moose Dropping Festival, held last weekend, asked for extra Alaska State Trooper presence when the forest festival got the kibosh last month due to rowdy behavior. (ADN's story here: http://www.adn.com/pw/story/455393.html) Any extra bodies in blue didn't prevent the explosion, nor show up when called as they were responding to a "higher priority emergency," the article states. So it was left to the borough maintenance man to clean up the mess left by a toilet in 500 pieces. It's thought the explosion happened late Sunday but no one is admitting to anything. It'll cost $200 to replace the toilet.
