HEAD'S UP: Pamyua at the Heritage Center

An all ages cultural celebration of Yup'ik dance and song will feature Pamyua along with collaborators from the Yup'ik performance group, Kicaput Singers and Dancers of Anchorage.

The two groups will conduct an interactive Yup'ik dance event at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Alaska Native Heritage Center as a fundraiser for Pamyua's Denmark tour in August. Pamyua plays contemporary grooves fusing multiple genres, but will perform a cappella at the dance event.

Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Get tickets at Alaska Dance Theatre (550 E. 33rd Avenue), the Alaska Native Arts Foundation (500 W. 6th Avenue) or the Heritage Center (8800 Heritage Center Drive).
