Perhaps it is time for all Alaskans who fish to join in with the charter operators and fight for our fish. After years worth of upping the quota for the commercial fishing fleets, we are seeing repeated poor returns on salomon runs state wide. Yet amazingly we here of record catches for the big guys in the commercial industry. You biologist are supposed to be scientist. How about expeimenting with reducing the commercial guys by a few thousand pounds for once, and than see what happens to the returns. You all seem hell bent on killing off the runs everywhere with no regaurd to the future, but you still find it in your hearts to try and balance the runs by closing our fishing season. Even when we can all do the math and add the numbers between commercial and sport caught fish. Now we pay for our permits to catch a king, just to have the seasons closed on us, yet you (the state) has no trouble taking our money for the king stamp, just to tell us we can not fish.Than sell us a story of how we don't know where all the fish are. Maybe it was the cold water, to deep of water, to shallow of water. I think the latest excuse was, maybe it was a bad ice year. Maybe it was just greedy heads of the state wanting the money and not caring what happens to the fish.Maybe the state needs to return all the money we put out for our permits, after all we can't use them. Seems to me this is all misapropreating funds and resources.
