Glencross is Calgary-Bound

Former UAA Seawolves winger Curtis Glencross, the school's last 20-goal scorer, has signed a three-year deal with the NHL's Calgary Flames, according to various reports.

Glencross, 25, will be playing for his fourth NHL team. He spent last season with Columbus and Edmonton -- he flourished after a trade to the Oilers -- after beginning his pro career and making his NHL debut in the Anaheim Ducks organization. (Some of you might remember that two seasons ago, Glencross scored his first NHL goal in his first NHL game, on his first NHL shot).

Glencross, a free agent this summer, last year compiled 15-10--25 totals in 62 combined games with Columbus and Edmonton. As a fourth-line energy player with the Oilers, he contributed 9-4--13 totals in 26 games.

Glencross' 21 goals in 2003-04 marks him as the last Seawolves skater to bust the 20-goal barrier. He helped UAA to its only WCHA Final Five appearance that season, which earned him a deal with Anaheim that included a $750,000 signing bonus.

In 71 NHL games, Glencross has earned 16-10--26 totals.
