Brides2Be

Marlena Wojcik lives with her fiance in Eagle River, AK. Originally from Chicago, she moved to Alaska last summer to be with the love of her life and is currently making plans for her Special Day, which will take place next October just thirty minutes outside of Chicago--- it's a destination wedding, sort of. Her challenge is to balance needs, wants, aesthetics, practicality, family politics, and THE BUDGET...dah da duuuuuuuuh. So far, she and her fiance are still getting along. Got any advice for them? Planning a wedding? Just finished planning a wedding? Share your stories/suggestions/forewarnings here. This is your forum.

...Because no Bride2Be should suffer alone.

&^%# Wedding Invitations

People are using iPods for wedding DJs. Why can't we use eVite for wedding invitations. Oh yeah, because that would be totally tacky. One of the few time-tested and time-honored traditions in the contemporary wedding is sending a formal invitation.

I'm a bit of a traditionalist myself, but I still struggle with the appropriate salutation on the envelope. For example, both couples are doctors. So you say Drs. Kevin and Meg Boyd, right? Or is it Dr. and Mrs. Kevin Boyd? Or what if they have different last names? The salutation would start sounding like a three stooges line, Dr. Howard and Dr. Fine, and Dr. Howard...

Anything goes is a la mode, but does anyone have suggestions or difinitive answers? Not that I'm changing anything after six hours of work before sending them to a friend who's generously donating her time to print them as our wedding gift (no gifts, but this is a wonderful exception). But maybe other brides have had similar struggles? Don't even get me started on the correct text to use in the invitation or reply card.

I'm waiting...

It's been more than 40 days since your last post. I'm not sure what the point of having a blog is, if you don't post more frequently.

At minimum, I expect blogs to have one new post a week. How else will you keep your readership interested? Especially when there are already so many bride blogs out there.

Maybe it's time for someone else to take over?

Sincerely,
Bored
