Thieves broke into the Delta Junction high school over the weekend and cleaned up, making off with 52 laptop computers, two desktop computers, a surveillance system and other items, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Losses are estimated at $100,000 and damage at an additional $6,000.

Text: On 6-22-08, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a death on the
vessel Rhapsody of the Sea while underway to Juneau, AK. On 6-21-08
while underway Jeffery L. Patterson, age 61, of Bataria, Illinois, was
treated by the ships doctor for chest pain. At 2155 hours, Patterson
past way, do to cardiac arrest. When the ship arrived in Juneau
Troopers responded and conducted an investigation. Next of kin was also
on the Rhapsody of the Sea and was notified

Case Number: 08-49603
Type: Criminal Mischief
Text: On 6-22-08, AST Juneau investigated a complaint of criminal
mischief concerning the damage of GPS equipment owned by the US Forest
Service at 10 mile Mitkof Highway near Petersburg. Investigation found
that a 13 year old male from Petersburg had driven his motorcycle
through a GPS mapping station and become tangled in some of the cables.
The damage was estimated by the USFS to be between $5,000 -$15,000
dollars. Further testing on the equipment is required to determine how
significant the damage actually was. Investigation continues.

Type: MVC - Injury, DUI, DWLR
Text: On 6/22/08 at approximately 2252 hours, the AST South Central
DUI Enforcement Team responded to 3851 Old Matanuska Rd., in Wasilla,
for the report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.
Investigation revealed Tara A. Steward, age 25, of Wasilla, was driving
her 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on the Old Matanuska Rd. when she
lost control of the vehicle. Steward and her male passenger were
transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center to be treated for
their injuries. Both occupants were reported wearing their seatbelts.
The vehicle was totaled in the collision. Steward was found to be
driving the vehicle with a revoked driver's license and alcohol was a
factor in the collision. The collision is still under investigation at
this time.

Type: Assault IV-DV
Text: On 6-21-08 at approximately 1847 hours Kotzebue AST received a
report of an assault in the village of Kobuk. Investigation determined
that John Horner, 34 of Kobuk, assaulted a family member during an
argument. During the investigation, it was revealed that a 3 month old
infant may have been harmed during the incident. The female and infant
were transported to Maniilaq Medical Center for evaluation. Horton was
arrested without incident and remanded at the Kotzebue Regional Jail
without bail pending arraignment. Alcohol is believed to be a factor
during this incident. Investigation is continuing.

Type: Violation of Court Conditions of Release
Text: On May 22, 2008, Alaska State Troopers in Aniak investigated a
report that Dennis WEST, age 56, of Grayling, Alaska was violating court
conditions of release. Investigation revealed that on May 14, 2008, WEST
violated court conditions of release by consuming alcohol and being
without his third party custodian when he was required to.

no proof of insurance.

Text: On 6-22-08 at 0343 hrs, Troopers made contact with Christopher
Grapengeter, 23, of Delta Jct. on a traffic stop near mile 311 of the
Richardson Hwy. Grapengeter was found to be under the influence of
alcohol and subsequently was arrested for felony DUI, operating a
vehicle with revoked driver's license, and an arrest warrant for a
probation violation. Grapengeter is currently on probation for felony
DUI. Grapengeter was transported and remanded to FCC.

Type: Theft I, Burglary II, Criminal Mischief III
Text: On 6-22-08 at 1710 hrs, Troopers received a report that unknown
persons broke into Delta High School and stole 52 laptop computers, new
desk top computers, a surveillance system and other items. Estimated
value of stolen items is $80,000-$100,000. Estimated damage is $6000.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact AST.

Type: Felony Driving Under the Influence, Driving while Revoked
Text: On 6/22/08 at 0337 hours, DUI enforcement Troopers conducted a
traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The operator was
identified as Gerritt A. Fuentes age 55 of Fairbanks. An investigation
revealed Fuentes was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence
of an intoxicating substance and while his operator's license was
revoked. Fuentes was taken into custody and transported to FCC where he
was remanded on the charges of Felony DUI and Driving while Revoked.

Text: On 6/21/08 at approximately 2316 hrs, AST received a 911 call from
a 50 year old female reporting that she had been assaulted by her
boyfriend Patrick W. Young, age 50 of Nikiski, at their residence in
Nikiski. AST responded and subsequently arrested Patrick Young for D.V.
Assault 2nd, Assault 3rd, six counts of Assault 4th, and Interfering
with the Report of a D.V. Crime. Patrick Young was remanded to Wildwood
Pretrial without bail. The female victim did not require immediate
medical treatment.

Text: On 6/21/08 Mat Su West Alaska Wildlife Troopers contacted Matthew
Robert Wilkerson 29 yoa, of Colorado. Wilkerson, a sport fishing guide
employed by Lake Marie Lodge, was guiding clients at Red Creek.
Wilkerson did not have any of the required sportfish guiding licenses
and documents in his possession. Wilkerson was issued a citation, bail
set at $210 in Palmer Court.
