This blog will cover all city and statewide bodybuilding competitions and the out-of-state guest posers. Weight-loss success stories from local people, features/bios on bodybuilding, fitness and figure competitors, coverage of fad diets. Nutritious recipes and reviews on local gyms and health food stores. I would also like to cover Adult/Childhood Obesity in America and specifically,Alaska. Weight-lifting techniques/safety as well as the benefits for women. This is just a general idea, as the blog will be constantly evolving.

Getting into shape is never easy and sometimes we are our own worst enemies when it comes to setting and reaching our goals. Upon mapping out your quest to lose weight, build muscle and feel great- set aside some time to plan your short and long-term goals and write them down where you can refer to them often.
Just do it!
Goal setting is a lot like an architect drawing up plans for a building. If you wanted to build a house, you wouldn't just start nailing boards together haphazardly, hoping they eventually turn into a livable structure. You must plan, prioritize and stay consistent with a healthy diet and exercise routine in order to see the results you want. At first it will be challenging because it's new to you. The first week will be the hardest part, but persistence and dedication to the new you will inevitably produce a healthier body and mind.
Make your workouts the highlight of your day.
I think the Nike slogan says it best: "Just do it." It really is as simple as that. Clear your mind of negative thinking and fill it with thoughts of a healthy body, maybe some six-pack abs, success and achievement. You may surprise yourself as some of my clients have, with where your new lifestyle will take you!
Success...: Jess posing with the great Vince Taylor!
If for the life of you, you cannot figure out why you aren't seeing results, check to see if you are living in denial. Yes, it happens to the best of us. We tell ourselves that we are doing all that we can, we make excuses because we are tired or would just rather go to the movies instead of the gym. If this behavior goes on for long, it will ultimately derail you and put you back to square one, fueling your frustration even more.
Exercise MUST be a part of your lifestyle everday in order to accomplish what you want, that's the secret. You cannot be inconsistent, you must prioritize these new additions to your life. Once you get over the initial shock of it all, you will soon make it a habit and will wonder why you didn't start sooner and how you ever got along without it in your life.

Healthy choices
Stephanie and friends... As we all know, we're not able to do anything we don't truly set our hearts on. We also know we wont live long without a happy and healthy heart. Making the right healthy choices will help with that, even the little exercises do a lot. Stephanie made me jump rope for 1 min. 30 seconds one day. It was hard, but there's a reason I did it. My body got many benefits from it!
