Safety

Keller cited "safety" as her excuse for breaking the tie vote and ramrodding the highly controversial $300,000 giveaway to Lowes a few years ago. Lowes was obligated to put in a traffic light, which they did, but in the end they didn't want to pay for it and asked Keller. Keller was hardly neutral as she managed the hearing. One out of ten citizens who spoke at the public hearing spoke against it, but Keller and her three council loyalists obviously had it set in their mind that Wasilla would cover them. Keller said it was for "safety," even though the light was already in place, whether Wasilla citizens bailed Lowes out of their obligation or not.

Later she claimed there was absolutely no city money to cover the loss of borough funds for the Wasilla library and then later no money for additions to the library collection.

IF U REALLY CARE!

Read the entire report as posted by ADN.
It is obvious to anyone that this project was being engineered by the city, with a very non-transparent approach.
The very tone of the city's attitude on this matter is suspect and lends reason to believe
there were and may well be ongoing flaws in the propriety of our city officials.
