Knik bridge

Alaskans know it's a bridge to somewhere. What isn't clear is whether the Knik Arm Crossing makes sense to build. And if the Knik Arm Bridge and Toll Authority (KABATA) is the outfit to get it done.

Gov. Sarah Palin wants a full and thorough accounting from KABATA about what the authority has accomplished and the status of the project now. The state has written a letter to KABATA giving chapter and verse about its concerns and what information it expects KABATA to provide.
Here's the letter

Should we cross Knik Arm or cancel the project? What do you think?

Knik Arm Crossing

I would hope this gets published in Letters to the Editor.

Thank yous are in order, to Governor Palin and to Anchorage Daily News for the necessary attention to the Knik Arm crossing project. With $41.5 million spent in five years, there are thousands of Alaskans who have had an eye on this project, hoping for answers every single day. It is important to publish the names of the principals in this project, not the business names they use, but the actual names of the people involved in the process of spending $ 41.5 million of Alaska's money for this Knik project. I would hope to see a listing in the ADN of the names involved with this project and also the results of a published comprehensive audit. Keep up the good work, ADN, and we all hope to see more and more reports on expenditures for the Knik Arm crossing project to date. Thank you Governor Palin. We all know the money is going, going. Where? And to Whom?
