Going for gas

From Mat-Su business reporter Zaz Hollander:

Yet another Mat-Su natural gas prospector is eying the Mat-Su, this time in the Upper Susitna Valley. And the state wants to know what you think.

Anchorage energy independent Lapp Resources is moving toward drilling beneath 21,000 acres from Houston to Nancy Lake and east toward the Talkeetnas. The state wants public comment on a license to give Lapp and his partners exclusive rights to the gas.

Lapp owner David Lappi hooked up with a couple of familiar out-of-state investors: Samuel Cade, from Dallas and Daniel Donkel from Daytona Beach, Fla. The two have partnered up on various oil and gas leases around the state before.

Several others have tried for Mat-Su gas and moved on -- Evergreen Resources, Unocal – but at least a couple other operators are still here: Fowler Oil and Gas Corp., with a proposed well near Palmer, and Storm Cat Energy, with a couple leases around Big Lake.

Look for more on this story online, and in Wednesday’s print edition of the Mat-Su section.

Oh Sure

this will end well. Again the outsiders who have absolutely NO concern about our state, our way of life - it's all about the money to be made! Remember Evergreen and the strong arm tactics they used? Folks, that area will wind up looking like a war zone when they are in there drilling, clear cutting, and polluting.

How did you overlook

that they'll obviously be setting off nuclear explosions to find the gas?

Or the human sacrifices necessary to get the gas flowing properly?

/righteous sarcasm mode off/

Now I can't help asking:

How does one clear-cut a potato field? Or are there invisible old-growth trees with invisible, silent owls living in them?
It takes, what? Invisible chainsaws?

Have faith!

"Forces For Good In the Community" will do their utmost to keep this from happening.

They're getting good at it!

Oh, you must mean..

that commie anti-development group "Friends" of MatSu. Yes it won't take long for them to cow Duffy into a drilling ban.
