Dubinsky Headed To World Championships

No official word from USA Hockey yet, but New York Rangers center Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage is headed to Nova Scotia to join Team USA for the World Championships, his father said today.

Bill Dubinsky said his son, fresh off two rounds of the Stanley Cup before the Rangers were eliminated in overtime of Game 5 by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, is headed to Nova Scotia on Tuesday.

Team USA (2-0) plays Canada (2-0) today in Halifax.

Brandon Dubinsky, a rookie, was fourth among Rangers in playoff scoring with 4-4--8 and +2 totals in 10 games. In the regular season, he ranked sixth in team scoring with 14-26--40 and +8 totals in 82 games.

That's a pretty sweet rookie season -- a guy who was on the bubble for making the team in his second season as a pro, not only did that, but played all 82 regular-season games, all 10 playoff games, and spent much of the season as Jaromir Jagr's center, racked extensive power-play time and has seen the last of the American Hockey League.
