We are starting by posting the Alaska State Troopers' daily logs, our own crime-related stories and other relevant items as we come across them. The Daily News encourages community engagement and discussion of issues of crime and criminal justice. Comments are not edited and will be posted immediately. We know that stories about crime often provoke strong reactions, but we insist that you keep your comments on point, use good taste and show courtesy toward other writers. Case number: 08-33831

Type: DWLS

Text: On 5/4/08 at approximately 2050 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Bret Bouslaugh Jr., age 20 of Wasilla, after Bouslaugh's 1988
black Pontiac Bonneville ran out of fuel on Polar Bear Drive, near
Wasilla Fishhook Road. Bouslaugh was discovered to be driving the
vehicle while on a suspended license. Bouslaugh was summonsed to appear in
court for DWLS, and his vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

Type: Assault 3/Assault 4

Text: On 05/04/2008 at 2034 hours, Palmer AST received a report of a
stabbing at the intersection of Schrock Rd. and Polar Bear Rd. in
Wasilla. Investigation revealed that two males got into a verbal
argument at that location. The verbal argument escalated into a physical
altercation and one of the males was stabbed in the chest. He was
transported to Matsu Regional hospital, and later released. No arrests
were made, and the case is being forwarded to the Palmer DA's Office for
review. Investigation continues.

Type: Disorderly Conduct

Text: On 5-4-08, at approximately 0352 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of a disturbance on Squire Dr. in Houston. During
the investigation 36 yoa David Kelly of Houston repeatedly ignored
warnings about being loud and disturbing the peace. Kelly refused to
comply with lawful orders to control his outbursts. Kelly was
subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct and taken to Matsu Pretrial
Facility where he was held on $1000.00 bail.

Text: On 5/4/08 at approximately 2205 hours, the AST South Central DUI
Enforcement Team contacted a vehicle at the Tesoro at mile 4 of Knik
Goose Rd., in Wasilla, after the vehicle ran out of gas. The driver,
identified as Leticia Belardi, age 40, of Wasilla, was found to be
operating the vehicle with a suspended driver's license. Belardi was
issued a summons to appear in the Palmer Court for Driving With A
Suspended Driver's License and released at the scene.

Text: On 5/4/08 at approximately 2328 hours the AST South Central DUI
Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near mile 48 of the Parks Hwy. in
Wasilla for an equipment violation. The operator was identified as
Billy Joe Blann, age 37, of Wasilla. Blann was found to be operating
the vehicle with a revoked driver's license. Blann was issued a summons
to appear in the Palmer Court for DWLR and released at the scene.

Type: Theft II

Text: On 5-5-08, at approximately 0822 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report that a 40 HP Johnson outboard motor was stolen from a
boat parked at a residence off Terrace Court. The theft occurred between
9:00 p.m. on 5-4-08 and 8:00 a.m. hours on 5-5-08. The motor is
estimated to be worth $1500. Anyone with information about this crime is
asked to call Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or Alaska State Troopers at
373-8300 / 745-2131.

Type: Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree

Text: On 05-05-2008 at approximately 0944 hrs, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a report of vandalism at Central Paving Products
Incorporated at Mile 36 of the Glenn Highway, Palmer. Investigation
revealed that from 05-03-08 to 05-04-2008, vandals caused an estimated
$5,000 of damage to equipment and buildings at the plant. Suspects have
been identified. The investigation is on going.

Type: Assault IV
Text: On 05-04-08 at approximately 1400 hours, Alaska State Troopers in
Kotzebue received a report of a disturbance in the village of Noatak.
An investigation revealed that two twenty year old females had been in a
physical altercation with one another. Neither of the females sustained
injuries that required medical attention. State Troopers are continuing
to investigate the matter.

Type: DV Assault in the Fourth Degree

Text: On 5-4-08 at 1733 hours it was reported to the Alaska State
Troopers, Aniak Post, that there had been a DV assault in Aniak. A
Trooper responded to the residence and interviewed the male victim. The
victim reported that his son had assaulted him after his son was told he
could not use the four wheeler. The son had left the residence and the
Trooper was unable to locate him. The victim did not require medical
attention. Alcohol was involved.

Type: Non DV Assault

Text: On 5-3-08 at 1031 hours Bethel Troopers were advised of a non DV
assault, which had occurred in Lower Kalskag at 0400 hours. The female
victim did not require medical attention. Alcohol was involved. The

Type: Probation Violation

Text: On 5-2-08 at 1630 hours, Alaska State Troopers arrested Tanya
Iyatunguk, 23 of Nome, for Probation Violation. Investigation shows
Iyatunguk consumed alcohol in violation of her probation. Iyatunguk was
remanded to Anvil Mountain Correctional Center.

Location: Kodiak

Case number: 08-31887

Type: Assault IV, Criminal Mischief, Minor Consuming

Text: On 04/29/08 at approximately 1329 hours Alaska State trooper in
Kodiak received a report of two vehicles stopped in the middle of the
road near mile 3.5 of the Chiniak Road. It was further reported that a
male subject from one vehicle was getting out and assaulting people in
another vehicle. The Kodiak Police Department stopped both vehicles once
the vehicles reached the city limits. Troopers responded to that scene
and conducted an investigation. Investigation revealed that the driver
of vehicle one, a white 2003 Chevy truck, Ruel Casabay, 30 years of age
from Kodiak and had been following vehicle two, a black 1996 Volkswagen
Jetta, driven by Caleb Wood, 23 years of age. Both vehicles were
inbound toward Kodiak on the Chiniak road. The truck passed the Jetta
and reportedly a visual jester was made from one driver to the other.
The white truck eventually stooped in front of the Jetta in the middle
of the road and the driver of the truck went back to the Jetta and broke
the driver's window out and assaulted the driver of the Jetta. A
passenger from the truck indentified as Jose M. Alfaro Jr., age 20 of
Kodiak also exited the truck and went back to the Jetta and assaulted
the passenger, a sixteen year old male subject from Kodiak who was
seated in the front passenger seat of the Jetta. Alfaro was taken into
custody for minor consuming alcohol and assault IV. Investigation
continues and additional charges are pending.

Text: On 5/4/08 at about 1500 hours, a 17 year old male was arrested in
Golovin for assaulting his father. The youth was additionally charged
with three counts of Criminal Trespass II and three counts of Theft IV
from a prior incident. The youth was transported to Nome where he was
lodged at Nome Youth Facility.

Type: Violate Conditions of Release
Text: On 5/4/08 at about 1115 hours, Cyril Acoman, age 22 of Saint
Michael, was arrested at Nome AST for violating his conditions of
release. Acoman was on conditions of release in Nome District Court
case 2NO-08-215CR with conditions not to consume or possess alcohol.
When he arrived at Nome AST Acoman had an odor of alcohol about his
person and blew a .029% on the Portable Breath Test machine. Acoman was
transported to Anvil Mountain Correctional Center where he was lodged.

Type: Sexual Assault/Minor in Need of Supervision
Text: On 4/24/08 at 1430 hours, one of the physicians at the
Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, Bethel, called to report that he'd
learned from the health aide in Akiachak that a 10 year old female had
touched a 3 year old female, both of Akiachak, in a sexual manner. The
discovery was made during an unrelated medical exam. The Office of
Children's Services is aware of the report. The investigation is
continuing.

Location: New Stuyahok

Case number: 08-31532

Type: Assault 2nd Degree, Domestic Violence

Text: On 4/27/08, AST Dillingham received a report of a domestic
violence assault that had just occurred in the village of New Stuyahok.
AST responded to the village a short time later. Subsequent
investigation revealed Norton Konukpoek, age 33, of New Stuyahok, had
assaulted a family member numerous times that morning, to include
strangling the victim. Konukpoek was taken into custody and transported
to Dillingham, where he was booked into jail. He was charged with one
count of assault 2nd degree and two counts of assault 4th degree. Bail
was set at $5,000.00 plus a court approved 3rd party custodian.

Case number: 08-31794
Type: Theft / Burglary
Text: On 4-28-08, Mark Cline, the general manager with the Isanotski
Corporation in False Pass called to report a theft from their liquor
store. Cline reported that approximately $460.00 worth of liquor was
taken from the store sometime during the night of April 22 2008. There
was no sign of forced entry into the building. Investigation is
continuing

Type: Burglary/Theft/Criminal Mischief

Text: On 5/4/08, Unalakleet AST received a report that the St. Michael
City office had been burglarized. Investigation revealed that person(s)
unknown had broken into the office and opened the safe, taking out the
money from the Laundromat and Bingo. The Laundromat money has been
recovered and AST investigation is continuing. Damages are estimated at
$1000.

Case Number: 08-33689

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision / DUI

Text: On Sunday, May 4th, at approximately 0605 hours, Alaska State
Troopers received a report of a single vehicle collision on Monashka Bay
Road near Otmeloi Road. Investigation revealed that 23 year old Kodiak
resident Jon A. Gier lost control of his 1989 Chevy pickup and collided
with a guard rail. Gier was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.
His vehicle was disabled as a result of the collision. Gier was found
to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested and charged with DUI.
Gier was remanded at the Kodiak jail and charged with one count of
Driving Under the Influence.

Type: SAM II

Text: On 04/21/08, approximately 1330 hrs., State Troopers Dillingham
received a report of a Sexual Abuse of a Minor which had occurred in St.
George, AK. The initially report indicated that a 14 year old girl had
become pregnant after having sex with an adult man. The incident is
under investigation.

Type: MIW 4th Degree

Text: On 5/5/08, at 0957 hrs, VPSO Leonard Raymond received a report
that Randy Henry, age 27 of Stebbins was intoxicated and had been in
possession of a handgun. VPSO Raymond responded and arrested Henry for
Misconduct Involving a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. Henry was lodged at
the Stebbins Holding Facility and later transported to Nome, being
lodged at AMCC.

Location: Aleknagik

Case number: 08-31813

Type: Attempted Burglary II/Criminal Mischief IV

Text: On 04/28/08, approximately 1051 hrs., State Troopers received a
report of an Attempted Burglary and Criminal Mischief which had occurred
at the Tribal Council Building in Aleknagik, AK. Investigation revealed
that, sometime between April 25 and April 28, person(s) had broken the
lock mechanism and door frame in attempt to gain entry into the
building. It is believed that access was not gained, as nothing was
found missing from inside the building. Damage to the door was
estimated to exceed $100.00. Investigation is ongoing.

Case Number: 08-33876

Type: Burglary

Text: On 5-4-08 Erica Kameroff of Aniak reported to the Alaska State
Troopers, Aniak Post, that her house had been burglarized. Ms Kameroff
reported that she had left the house and when she returned discovered
that a case of Corona Beer and a bottle of whiskey had bee stolen. Entry
was made by cutting open a window screen. Anyone with information
regarding this burglary should contact the Aniak Trooper Post.

Type: DV Assault

Text: On 5-5-08 at 0056 hours a DV assault was reported in Grayling. The
female victim reported that she had been assaulted and was requesting
Trooper response in the morning. She was given a safe place to spend the
night by a neighbor. No medical attention was required. Alcohol was
involved.

Case Number: 08-34052
Type: Motor Vehicle Collision / Leaving the Scene of Collision
Text: On Sunday, May 4th, 2008, at approximately 0530 hours, 57 year
old Kodiak resident Imelda Agbayani called Alaska State Troopers to
report a vehicle collision. Investigation revealed that Agbayani was
parked in the driveway of a residence on Spruce Cape Road when a second
vehicle traveling north on Spruce Cape Road collided with her 1997
Mercury Mountaineer. The suspect vehicle failed to stop and left the
area at a high rate of speed. Agbayani was sitting in her vehicle at
the time of the collision but was uninjured. Damage to the Mercury is
estimated to be $2000.00. Debris at the scene indicates the suspect
vehicle is silver in color, and Agbayani described it as a pickup, make
unknown. A search of the area was conducted but the suspect vehicle was
not located. AST continues to investigate.

Type: Driving Under the Influence
Text: On 5/5/08 at about 1410 hours, Nome AST received an anonymous tip
that Donald "Jackie" Johnson, age 49 of Nome, was intoxicated and
driving out to his camp. On 5/5/08 at about 1456 hours, Nome AST
contacted Johnson just past Cape Nome and Johnson was subsequently
arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Johnson was transported to
Nome Police Department where he provided a sample of breath on the
Datamaster revealing a breath alcohol content of .250% at about 1549
hours. Johnson was transported to Anvil Mountain Correctional Center
where he was lodged on $500 bail.

Location: Kiana

Type: Warrant Arrest, DUI
Text: On 5/5/08, State Troopers from Kotzebue were in the village of
Kiana when they contacted Edmond W. Morris Jr., 31 yoa, of Kiana
regarding an outstanding arrest warrant. At the time of the contact
Morris was operating a snow machine and had an odor of alcohol emitting
from his person. Subsequent investigation revealed that Morris was
under the influence of alcohol while operating the machine. Morris was
arrested and later transported to Kotzebue where he was remanded at the
Kotzebue Regional Jail for the outstanding arrest warrant and an
additional charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Type: Warrant Arrest (x2)
Text: On 5/5/08, State Troopers from Kotzebue were in the village of
Kiana and arrested Harold Ahwinona, 21 yoa, of Kiana for two outstanding
arrest warrants for the original charges of burglary, theft, theft of a
firearm and criminal mischief. Ahwinona was transported to Kotzebue and
remanded at the Kotzebue Regional Jail where he was held on $5,000
bail.

Text: On 5/5/08, State Troopers from Kotzebue were in the village of
Kiana and arrested Ruthie L. Downey, 25 yoa, of Kiana for an outstanding
bench warrant that was issued for failing to appear at a change of plea
hearing. Downey was transported to Kotzebue and remanded at the
Kotzebue Regional Jail where she was held on $1,000 bail.

Text: On 5/5/08, State Troopers in Kotzebue received a report of a
teacher being assaulted by a 9 year old student which required the
teacher to seek medical attention. State Troopers responded to Kiana

Type: MICS VI, Criminal Mischief IV

Text: On May 4, 2008, at approximately 0328 hours, Alaska State Troopers
responded to a disturbance in Fairbanks residence. Investigation
revealed that Talitha Frontz, 19 of Fairbanks and her boyfriend, Eric
Pendergrass, 26 of Fairbanks, were in possession of marijuana and drug
paraphernalia. Frontz was also charged for with criminal mischief for
breaking a window. Both Frontz and Pendergrass were arrested and
remanded to FCC.

Text: On 5-5-08 at 0002 hours, AST received a report of a disturbance in
Fairbanks area residence. After investigation Christopher Michael
Androes was arrested for a Probation Violation, Criminal Mischief in the
Fifth, Criminal Trespass in the Second, and Misconduct Involving a
Controlled Substance in the Sixth. Androes was remanded to Fairbanks
Correctional Center.

Type: MCA, MOCA

Text: On 5-4-08 at 0135 hrs, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a
black Ford Explorer for failure to stop before entering a roadway.
Investigation revealed that Jonathan Carpenter, 18, of Delta Junction
was at a party located at the gravel pits. Further investigation
revealed that Carpenter had consumed an alcoholic beverage. Carpenter
was issued a summons for Minor Consuming Alcohol and issued a citation
for Driving after Consuming.

Type: MCA

Text: On 5-4-08 at 0135 hrs, Troopers conducted a welfare check at a
party at the gravel pits off Spengler Road after obtaining information
that minors were consuming alcohol. Troopers contacted one male and one
female minor at the party that had consumed alcohol. Both were issued
summons for court for Minor Consuming Alcohol and were released to their
parents.

Text: On 5/4/08 at 0306 hours, DUI Enforcement Troopers contacted Paul
L. Thomas, age 45 of Fort Wainwright during a traffic stop. An
investigation revealed Thomas was operating while under the influence of
alcohol. Thomas was taken into custody for DUI and transported to FCC
where he was remanded on the charge.

Text: On 5/4/2008 at 0900 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to
an address near Rozak Road for the report of a domestic disturbance.
Investigation revealed, Bernice Drew, age 31 of Fairbanks, being the
respondent in a protective order, contacted the petitioner in violation
of the Domestic Violence Protective Order. Drew was arrested and
transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center and held without bail.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision - Injury
Text: On 5/4/2008 at 1345 hours, the Alaska State Troopers responded to
mile 3 of Sheep Creek Road for a single vehicle collision. Investigation
revealed, James Griffin, age 67 of Fairbanks, was driving his 1998 Honda
motorcycle northbound on Sheep Creek Road when he lost control of the
bike on a corner and slid off the east side of the road and into a
ditch. Griffin was not wearing a helmet and sustained injuries in the
crash. Grffin was transported by EMS to the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
Damage to Griffin's motorcycle estimated at $6,000.00. Investigation
continues.

Text: On 5-4-08 Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence on Lyle
Road following a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation
revealed Timothy HOOK of North Pole assaulted a family member. HOOK was
arrested for two counts of Assault IV, and Reckless endangerment. HOOK
was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center and held without bail.

Text: On 5-4-08 Alaska State Troopers responded to the intersection of
McGrath Road and Willow Grouse. Investigation revealed Jason PRICE of
Fairbanks riding a 1996 motorcycle collided with a 1999 Dodge Durango.
PRICE was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and was issued a
summons for No Valid Operators License and a citation for Negligent
Driving. The driver of the Dodge Durango reported wearing her seat belt
and not being injured.

Type: DUI, DUI Refusal, MVC-D, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage
Accident

Text: On 5/4/08, at 2103 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI
report. AST observed a 2003 green Pontiac traveling northbound near MP
38 Seward Highway. Initial investigation confirmed, Mary Barnett, age
46, of Anchorage was under the influence of alcohol. Barnett was
arrested for DUI and transported to Seward Jail where she refused to
provide a breath sample for chemical testing. Barnett was remanded to
jail pending arraignment, issued traffic citations for Open Container,
Failure to Drive on Right Side of Roadway, and Failure to Submit to a
PBT. Further investigation determined Barnett collided with a
guardrail near MP 46 Sterling Highway and failed to stop or remain at
the scene of the accident. Barnett was wearing her seatbelt and was not
injured. Barnett's vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed at her
request by Hamilton's Towing. Alcohol is considered to be a
contributing factor.

Text: On 5/5/08, at 0650 hours, Troopers were notified of the expected
home death of Carol Eads, 59 of Seward. Eads next of kin were present
and no foul play is suspected. Eads died from natural causes after a
long illness.

Text: On 5-4-08 at approximately 0821 hours Alaska Wildlife Troopers in
Juneau contacted Dana Ritter, age 41 of Juneau, while clam digging at
Bridget Cove. Ritter was found to not have a valid 2008 Sport Fish
license in his possession. Ritter was issued a bailable citation and
given an optional court appearance date of 5-28-08 in the Juneau
District Court.

Type: Importation, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI and
Resisting Arrest

Text: On 5-1-08 at approximately 1431 hours, Bethel WAANT contacted
Catherine G. Williams, age 49, of Akiak, at a local air carrier in
Bethel. During the investigation, 3-750 ml bottles of R and R Whisky
along with approximately 10 grams of marijuana were located inside of
her back pack. Williams planned to travel to the local option community
of Akiak with the contraband. William resisted arrest by attempting to
break away from the arresting officer as she was being placed in
handcuffs. Charges of Importation, Misconduct Involving a Controlled VI
and Resisting Arrest were forwarded to the Bethel DAO against Williams.
