Thursday's Wild Night In Pro Pucks

Hard to say what the craziest contest of the evening.

Perhaps the Alaska Aces' 6-5 overtime victory over Las Vegas to stave off elimination in Game 4 of the ECHL National Conference semifinal series? The Aces needed F.P. Guenette's overtime strike, not to mention Cam Keith's short-handed goal in the last minute of regulation to force OT. Oh, and that three-goal, power-play rally from a 3-1 deficit early in the third period didn't hurt, did it?

Not that the Aces solely cornered the market on remarkable comebacks. Get a load of the Utah Grizzlies -- all they did was bounce back from a 5-1 second-period deficit to beat Victoria, 7-5.

Elsehwere in the ECHL, Reading's Brock Hooten scored a third-period power-play goal to give his club a 1-0 victory and 3-2 series lead over Brabham Cup champion Cincy -- and Game 6 is in Reading. The Royals include former UAA Seawolves captain Charlie Kronschnabel.

Like the Aces, the NHL's New York Rangers staved off a sweep, beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0, courtesy, in part, of a goal and helper from terrific rookie center Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage.

In the American Hockey League, former UAA defenseman Chad Anderson furnished an assist for the Philadelphia Phantoms in a 5-2 Game 1 victory at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Philly also includes former UAF Nanooks winger Kyle Greentree, and the Baby Penguins include former Aces sniper Chris Minard and forward Tim Wallace of Anchorage. Elsewhere in the 'A,' the Chicago Wolves of winger Joey Crabb of Anchorage opened a series with a 4-1 win over Rockford.

And, hey, let's not forget about the Central Hockey League. The championship series opened in Arizona, where former Aces forward and league scoring champ Alex Leavitt furnished one goal and two assists for the Arizona Sundogs in a 6-3 win over the Colorado Eagles.

Amen

And what is Alex doing playing in the CHL anyway. I guess the Pheonix organization doesn't see a good thing when they've got it.

Aces need Leavitt

Can we get Alex back again? Kimbi needs to retire, too many untimely penalties don`t offset his production.

Kimbi

Kimbi is in an Aces sweater for the time being...regardless of what actions he hasn't/has done, we need to support them. Bashing and bad mouthing them isn't going to be any good for them. We all have our moments! If you're a true Aces fan, you'd back them up no matter what they do. They can do it!! WE believe Aces!!
