Spirits guru

From local brewers to the vineyards of Italy, exotic wines and spirits land on the shelves of our local stores and favorite bars. This site will inform and educate you about what's good and why. I'll share my best cocktail recipes; please send feedback. Together we'll explore what specialties local bartenders are mixing, and mark our calendars for special events. Salut!

I honed my mixology skills at the Oak Room of the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston. Other experience includes the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, and the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, where I facilitated community tasting events while bartending at the Crow's Nest. I am currently working with a team of mixologists at Simon & Seafort's. To date, I have created more than 300 new cocktails. I've lived in Anchorage since 1999.

Shaking things up for you at Simon and Seafort's!

I'm overjoyed to say I'm shaking-up specialty cocktails at Simon and Seafort's!

I'm working with an incredible team of some of the best mixologist in town. We'll be bringing you some of the latest and greatest that we have to offer this Summer.

This well rounded beverage program is top notch and uses the freshest ingredients, new and up-to-date products and techniques, while balancing everything out with local and Imported Beer, Single Malt Scotches and a vast array of wines.

Don't get me started about the food!

I'm getting an incredible exposure to some tasty delectable eats.

In the future I'll be talking from time to time about each area of this very busy and successful operation.

You'll get a peak behind the curtain but just enough to tantalize your taste buds.

Here is your first little peak;

Saddle up on a bar stool and ask about our specialty drinks. My choice for you would be the Berry Martini, it's a delicate balance of Stoli-Blueberry, Chambord and fresh house made lime sour. This nectar is served in a chilled martini glass with a sugar rim and topped of with a splash of Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine.

If your in between 4-6pm or 9pm-close all the appetizers are half off. Try this wonderful cocktail with the Crispy Five Spice Calamari with a Chili-Plum sauce that is both tart and sweet and slightly spicy.

Watch out for the Red Jalapeno Peppers mixed in they bite back.

I like that.

This is but one of many spectacular pairings you can have.

Bring your friends and come see me and the rest of our talented mixologist and find a cocktail that fits your taste, we have them all.

Salut!

Pomegranate Margarita

I never went away. I was just laying low over the winter and coming-up with new recipes. Here is one for you;
Pomegranate Maragarita (Don't salt the rim)

1 1/2 oz. Cuervo Silver Tequila
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 1/2 oz Pomegranate Juice
2 1/2 oz. Margarita Mix or Lime Sour

Fill a pint glass with ice and add all ingredients and shake. Pour into a fresh pint glass and top off with soda and squeeze of a fresh lime wedge.

If you want anymore recipes let me know.

Double Yum!

I was recently at your bar and had your recommendation of the Watermelon Martini (Seeds and all) and the ice cream cake. WOW! The martini made me wish for summer, and the ice cream cake had some spice mixed in with the chocolate ice cream,it was unexpected and FABULOUS! Keep 'em coming!
