Followers. No thinking required. Be like liberal Seattle. Vote on a politically correct extremely liberal ordnance. What will be banned next? Hunting? Gun ownership? You people who venture out into the wilds of Anchorage to pursue the ever elusive good time are afraid of secondhand smoke? The biggest problem with this followers philosophy are the lack of facts. There are literally millions of people living in this world who's parents smoked heavily in the house, in the car and all over. How many people have actually suffered from this? Like Mesothelioma there are less than 100. This was not a health vote it was absolutely a follower philosophy. So much for Alaskan character strength, American independence. You need a law to fulfill your personal desires.
I love it, I can go out to bars again. Just wanted to clarify though that it's NOT banning smokers from smoking, but instead limits where they can appease there addiction.
Yes much better to set boundaries to appease thier addiction to tobacco. I suppose it's better to appease a drinkers addiction in a bar just before jumping into a several thousand pound low velocity vehicle/weapon and kill several people, spend thousands of dollars in public funds (police, EMS, District Attorney, etc) only to be allowed to do it again in a few years. Yes yes I see your point - it's so much better to allow people out of thier homes to drink but to make sure you curtail thier tobacco addiction so no one gets thier feelings hurt.
