I honed my mixology skills at the Oak Room of the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston. Other experience includes the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, and the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, where I facilitated community tasting events while bartending at the Crow's Nest. I am currently working with a team of mixologists at Simon & Seafort's. To date, I have created more than 300 new cocktails. I've lived in Anchorage since 1999.

Fur Rondy Drink of the Week!

It's cold, it's icy and the dogs are barking and racing.

It's Fur Rondy!

After a weekend of Parade watching, Dog Racing, Fur Trading and just plain fun at the carnival it takes some time to warm-up those cold aching muscles.

After coming home and fixing the kids up with some Hot Chocolate with whipped cream, fix a little something and spice things up for yourself and your significant other while you slowly bring the temperature up.

The drink of the week should do just the trick;

The Fur Rondy Aphrodisiac

(on second thought maybe you ought to put the kids to bed first. In Ancients Mayan and Aztec times, pepper flakes were ground into chocolate and served in a hot beverage as an aphrodisiac)

1/2 oz. Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka
1/2 oz. Kahlua
1/2oz. Dark Creme de Cacao
6 oz. Hot Chocolate
dash of Cayenne Pepper

Combine hot chocolate and cayenne pepper into a large tea or coffee pot and stir until pepper is dissolved. In a large coffee mug rinse with hot water. Pour all ingredients into the mug and stir well. Top with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
