Sad news for civilians on the Cyrus front

If you were all geared up to see Billy Ray, I hope you've got some army green in your closet.

It turns out the Cyrus show Feb. 12 at the Sullivan Arena is being thrown for military families. There will be no tickets sold to the public, said Bob Hall, a spokesman for U.S. Army Alaska.

Army Entertainment booked the show, which will also feature pop/punk band Bowling for Soup and 16-year-old country singer Katie Rae Davis.

Military families looking for concert details can call 384-2261.

So first we send them to Iraq without proper equipment...

and now we subject them to Billy Ray Cyrus?

What a load...

of crap... No offense to our esteemed military heroes, but it's not right that us "normal" people can't go. You'd think that he'd take his career status into consideration and take whatever he could get.

Aahhhh man!

Well, best of times to our military personnel who will be attending. You'll have to tell me how it was.

Crap!

oh crap! My eleven year old daughter will be heartbroken. (Thank God it's not Miley in a military only show). We were gonna fly in from the bush where we live to see it...I don't even know anyone in the military to fob tickets off...but yea, best wishes to the military families. It will be something for them to really look forward to and the whole family can go.

Concert

This concert is for Army families only but when I called to see how to get tickets, I was told it was only for famiies of returning soldiers. Now, we moved here during the summer after my husband returned from a year in Korea. We supported our military families that were here as many people outside the military did. I can see how some people would be upset but so are some military families. I would also be upset if I was Air Force because they are not invited either. Sullivan is a big place so I think priority can be given to returning families but we shouldn't be left out. My kids were heartbroken when they saw the flier and then I had to tell them we couldn't go. I just pray that somehow Miley doesn't surprise her dad by popping in.

Miley..

I'm going with a military wife and if Miley shows up to surprise her dad I don't think I'll have the nerve to tell my daughter...she'd be so upset she missed it.
