Ballard is battling breast cancer, and Humpy's wants to help. Performers confirmed to play are the Colleen Coadic Trio, Jared Woods, Milo, Melissa Mitchell and John "J.Z." Zuleger. Humpy's manager Cyndi Ramirez promises other "cameo appearances," too. I dare you to find more musical action on a Sunday evening in Anchorage.
And here's a nice cherry on top: Buy raffle tickets for a shot at winning one of the many great prizes that Ramirez has gathered: gift certificates and items donated by businesses such as Humpy's, Cafe Amsterdam, Snow City Cafe, The Shed, The Peanut Farm, Starbucks, " target="_blank"> Alaska Distributors, La Mex, Red Bull, the Anchorage Concert Association, Sub Zero, and even Valdez Heli-Camps.
All proceeds from raffle ticket sales will go to Ballard. Ramirez says staff will also "pass the hat" so people can contribute that way, too.
I was at Humpy's Tuesday night and can report Alaska Winter Ale is now on tap. That should take the edge off this cold snap.
The fundraiser starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m.
