Kohring trial: Bill Allen and Rick Smith at the end of the 2006 regular session

It's the end of the regular session, and Veco CEO Bill Allen and VP Rick Smith are pondering the future of the oil tax in their hotel suite. Watching the legislature on television, they comment on various lawmakers and, apparently, how they intend to reward them. Allen on Rep. Bruce Weyhrauch: "I'm gonna have to give him some contract or something." Smith mentions Kohring. Says Allen: "When I take care of Ben, I'm gonna have hell with Roger and Pete" - an apparent reference to promises to provide Senate President Ben Stevens with a job as a Veco executive, and fellow Veco executives Roger Chan and Pete Leathard.
