Kenai watercolor winners announced

Georg-Anne Phillips received the Best of Show award for “She’s Come Undone” in the 2009 Kenai Peninsula Watercolor Juried Exhibition which opened Thursday, November 5th. The presentation of awards came during the First Thursday artists’ reception at the Kenai Fine Arts Center in Old Town Kenai. Artists from all over the Kenai Peninsula working in water media entered the annual exhibition.

This year’s juried exhibition was juried by two local artists. Chelline Larsen is a life long Soldotna resident and artist who has worked in many mediums over the years including drawing, watercolors, acrylics and currently silk painting. She owns and operates the Dragonfly Gallery in Soldotna.

Brian Erwin has a strong background in art materials and methods, drawing and perspective drawing, two-dimensional design and art history. He has been manager of Frames and Things for over nine years.

The exhibition runs through the end of November at the Kenai Fine Arts Center, 816 Cook Street in Kenai. For more information call 283-7010 Monday through Saturday from Noon to 6 pm.
