Three people were ejected from a vehicle near Homer after an Alberta man snatched it while drunk, sped off and rolled it when he lost control, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers say Serebrekoff jumped into the driver’s seat of a 2006 Mitsubishi Gallant when its owner, Homer resident Nikita Basargin, 19, got out at a gathering.
Two women were still in the back seat and a man was in the front passenger seat when Serebrekoff got in and sped toward Razdolna at what witnesses estimated was up to 80 mph.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A 59-year-old Kenai woman has been indicted on charges of mail fraud and bankruptcy fraud.
Acting U.S. Attorney Kevin Feldis says the accused had two different social security numbers, one in name of Lela McGee and the other in the name of Lela Greene. The woman also had separate Alaska driver's licenses under those names.
Feldis says McGee used the two names to fraudulently obtain unemployment insurance benefits.
He adds that when McGee filed for bankruptcy in 2006, she failed to list, as required, all the names she had used in the past eight years.
If convicted, McGee could be fined a maximum of $250,000.

A panhandler collecting cash at a Midtown intersection just after midnight today was struck by a vehicle that then sped away, according to police.
Police say Anchorage resident William Galeshoff, 42, walked into an eastbound lane on Benson Boulevard to get some money from the driver of a pickup near the intersection of C Street about 12:30 a.m. The light was red and the pickup was stopped as Galeshoff took the money, police said.
But as Galeshoff was walking back to the side of the road, the light turned green and the driver of a red sedan coming through in the next lane apparently didn’t see him and hit him, police said. Galeshoff was knocked back into the pickup.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a 39-year-old woman accused of manslaughter for her role in the car-surfing death of a Fairbanks man.
District Attorney Mike Gray said this week he sought the charge against Samantha Lee Randolph because the June 10 accident was caused by "extreme" recklessness.
"Recklessly causing the death of another defines manslaughter," he said.
Court records show Randolph has yet to retain an attorney.
Car surfing is when a person stands on the hood of a moving vehicle. It's been popularized in movies such as "Teen Wolf." The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a report last year noting that 58 people died while performing the stunt between 1990 and August 2008.

KETCHIKAN, Alaska (AP) — The amount of money stolen from Chase Hoyt's bank account was far smaller than its impact on this southeast Alaska community.
According to police, Hoyt told a detective he gave Mitchell Peura and Patrick Doherty, both 19, his bank card and PIN number, and asked them to withdraw $60. Instead, police said, the pair used the card seven times between May 15 and May 30 to illegally withdraw $1,580.
"(Hoyt) indicated that he did not think they would steal from him because they had been friends for a long time, and throughout the time that the withdrawals took place, Mr. Doherty and Mr. Peura were hanging out at his house," according to a criminal complaint filed by Ketchikan police Detective Natalie White.
