Mark PowersMark Powers, a senior project manager at Roger Hickel Contracting Inc. has been promoted to vice president. He will continue to manage projects in addition to being vice president.

Powers joined RHC in June 2004 and has been estimating and managing jobs throughout Alaska. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2002 with a Master of Science degree in building construction.

Delaney Wiles Inc. has announced that Scott Gerlach was recently admitted as the firm's newest shareholder.

Gerlach received his Juris Doctor from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, cum laude, in 2007 and he is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Alaska.

He joined Delaney Wiles, Inc. as an associate attorney in June 2008. His practice focuses on business and commercial law, complex litigation, natural resources, health care law and medical malpractice defense.

Bart DeanBart Dean has recently joined AT&T as a member of the Alaska Signature Accounts team based in Anchorage. Bart began his telecom career in Alaska more than 30 years ago selling phone systems to oil & gas customers. He has continued to provide voice, data and wireless solutions to major customers in the Pacific Northwest, most recently handling federal and tribal government accounts in Washington and Idaho.

Joireen CohenAES promoted Joireen Cohen to the position of director of Health, Safety and Environmental Technology.. She will oversee the development, implementation, and administration of organization-wide HSET programs and manage the Anchorage HSET staff. For the past 18 months, Cohen was the HSET Loss Prevention Manager. She is a certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist with over 20 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims in the oil and gas and health care industries.

MaLane Harbour has recently been named executive director of Primrose Retirement Community of Wasilla. Harbour is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the community, which includes 41 assisted living apartment homes, 25 independent living apartment homes and eight independent townhome villas.
She oversees the nursing, maintenance, marketing and administrative staff and ensures that the retirement community meets residents’ needs.

Robert Moats recently passed the Alaska Real Estate Broker’s Exam to become an associate broker for Western Enterprises Inc. He rose through the ranks to become a licensed salesperson and then to practice real estate in 2006. With that came the additional responsibility of being a property manager for over 45 buildings in the area.

Since then, Moats has used his construction background to represent buyers and sellers in commercial lease transactions.

Grant Gephardt passed the Alaska P.E. exam and was promoted to senior engineer. He has been with PND since completing his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2007.

Zachary Rinker passed the Wyoming P.E. exam and was promoted to senior engineer. Zach holds a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering (structural option) from the University of Wyoming and has been with PND since October 2010.

Sig ColbergCook Inlet Region Inc. named Stig Colberg its chief financial officer.

Colberg joined CIRI in 2008 and was the company’s chief business development officer. He now heads CIRI’s Finance and Accounting Department and Business Development Department. He is responsible for CIRI’s financial management, its accounting and internal control systems, and the company’s budget and financial reporting matters.

Mary Pinkel has joined the law firm of Wohlforth, Brecht, Cartledge & Brooking as an associate.

Pinkel previously worked as an attorney advisor for the U.S. Army. Before working for the Army, she served in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Alaska. She also served in the Anchorage Municipal Attorney’s Office. Mary has also served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Alaska.

She will concentrate on litigation and transactional law, providing advice and representation to clients in areas of municipal, public finance and business law.
