Oceana has announced the promotion of Susan Murray to Deputy Vice President, Pacific. Murray is responsible for managing three Pacific offices located in Juneau, Portland, OR, and Monterey, CA. In her tenure with Oceana, Ms. Murray has successfully driven ocean conservation policy victories in the Pacific and Arctic for the past decade. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, and has lived in Juneau for the past 22 years.

Ryan Campbell is an Engineering Geologist. Prior to joining Golder Associates Inc. he worked as mineral exploration geologist, looking for precious metals both here in Alaska and in the lower 48. Ryan has over 3 years of experience running surficial sampling and drill programs in very remote settings. Ryan graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage with a Bachelors of Science degree in geology and is part of the Alaska Miners Association.

New State Park Superintendent for Kenai/Prince William Sound Area Appointed
(SOLDOTNA, AK) – Long-time Alaska State Parks employee Jack Blackwell has been appointed Superintendent for the Kenai/Prince William Sound Area state parks. Blackwell will oversee the Kenai River Special Management Area, Kachemak Bay State Park, the state recreation areas along the western Kenai Peninsula, and the state marine parks in Resurrection Bay and Prince William Sound.

Steve J. Langdon, professor of anthropology for the University of Alaska Anchorage, is this year’s recipient of the University of Alaska Foundation’s prestigious Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. The Bullock Prize for Excellence includes a cash award and is the largest single award made annually by the UA Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

A University of Alaska Fairbanks graduate, Keith Bartusch was recently hired as a Loan Officer and appointed Vice President by First National Bank Alaska’s Board of Directors.
Bartusch will work out of the bank’s Johansen Branch.
