Chugach Mountains with Snow: The Chugach Mountains overlooking Anchorage have a fresh white blanket on top. The seasons are changing quickly.Summer has come and gone.
Quite honestly, autumn is quickly fading away here in the Great Land too.
The last few days have been fickle. Clear one day, snow on the mountains the next. Then a day that makes Anchorage look like Southeast (rainy and foggy), followed by a day with plenty of fresh white snow surrounding Anchorage.
While fall is my favorite season, here in Alaska it too often lasts about a week or so. Really! This year, autumn is hanging on. While it’s sure to turn soon, I’m all for enjoying our shoulder season.
Foggy Sunday: My backyard on Sunday morning. Mist, rain, fog, clouds, whatever ...
Basically the tourists have all headed home. The scenery is still stunning. We’re moving to the season when both indoor and outdoor activities are fun. And the sunlight is doing that awesome “long shadows, cool colors” thing. (It’s kind of hard to describe.)
Perhaps a slowing pace will also allow for more blogging time. That’s my goal anyway.
Enjoy the season, where ever you are.

Flattop with Snow: Flattop Moutain from my neighborhood this morning. The fresh snow is a sure sign of things to come.
Leaves on bike path: The Chester Creek Trail in Anchorage on Monday afternoon. Most of the Anchorage-area trees have dropped their leaves.
