Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jillian, a pair of Yorkies who think they're huskies, and Lucy, a sweet Chessie. R.I.P., Rusty. Contact mlewis@adn.com

AACCC Adoption of the Week: Meet Lady

LadyLady
Here's Anchorage Animal Care and Control's Adoption of the Week, courtesy of Brooke Taylor, AACCC public relations coordinator.

Here is Lady, a 1 year old, spayed female, pit bull mix. Docile, a little shy at first, but very friendly, gentle and easy-going, this sweet young gal is very active and curious. She still has much of the puppy about her, and really enjoys people. Attentive and responsive, she wants to please and sits nicely for her treats. She's kennel-trained, has been to the dog park, and has lived with dogs and children. She is probably too rambunctious for really small kids, and she likes to chase small animals--so best to a home without felines. Likes ropes and chew toys, and likes to cuddle! Special thanks to Alaska SPCA for donating Lady’s spay surgery, reducing her adoption fees by $80! She can now be adopted for $72, which includes her MOA dog license, vaccinations, and microchip. Call 343-8122 for more information.

Adoption update: Chip and Timber are still available.
