Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.

AACCC Adoption of the Week: Meet Rex

RexRex

Here's Anchorage Animal Care and Control's Adoption of the Week, courtesy of Brooke Taylor, AACCC public relations coordinator.

Please meet Rex, a 1.5 year old, neutered male, lab/hound mix. Very active, playful and full of energy, this young fellow is very curious, likes exploring his surroundings, and loves his exercise and outings. He's used to lots of walks, likes running and playing, and then cuddling with his humans. He's lived with kids 4 and 6, and with a female dog--was friendly and playful with all. He is not socialized around most other dogs, however, and will need some training in this area, though he is improving around other shelter dogs with the help of our volunteers. Kennel-trained and rides fine in the car. Likes his chew toys and "fetch", and sits readily for treats. He'll love an active home that can provide plenty of exercise, attention and things to do. Special thanks to the Alaska SPCA for providing Rex's neuter surgery free of charge—and reducing his adoption fee by $80! Rex can now be adopted for $72, which includes his MOA dog license, vaccinations, and microchip. Call 343-8122 for more information.
