Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport provides automated information for pilots

Anchorage, Alaska – Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport has resumed the Automatic Terminal Information Service recorded information hotline for pilots. The service is heavily used by pilots in planning their flights in and out of Anchorage’s busiest seaplane base and General Aviation airstrip.

“The airport and Lake Hood users agreed that this was an important element in supplying up-to-date information to pilots in an accessible and efficient manner,” said John Stocker, Acting Manager at Lake Hood Seaplane Base.

Pilots can now receive the latest airport information, including current weather, runway configuration and Notices to Airmen by calling the following numbers:

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC): 907-243-ATIS (243-2847)

Lake Hood Seaplane Base (LHD) and Lake Hood Strip (Z41): 907-245-LHDA (245-5432)

Lake Hood Seaplane Base (LHD) and the Lake Hood Strip (Z41) are home to 500 floatplanes and 500 wheeled aircraft. Over 200 aircraft operations occur per day at the lake and airstrip.

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,700 miles of highway and 660 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.
