The Obedience Training Club of Chugiak is sponsoring what looks like a fun event -- the Dog Dash & Dawdle -- Sept. 15 in Chugiak. Here are the specifics:

WHO: Obedience Training Club of Chugiak.

WHAT: Dog Dash & Dawdle, which combines a 10K run, a 5K run and a 1 mile walk -- all with your leashed dogs. Entry fee is $25 until Aug. 15, then goes to $31, which includes chip timing for all distances, a T-shirt, photo opportunities and a dog tag finisher medal while supplies last.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m.

WHERE: Chugiak Benefits Association, 18606 Old Glenn Highway, Chugiak.

WHY: The race is a benefit for The Roscoe Fund, which assists pets or rescue animals in need of emergency medical treatment.
