Anchorage, AK — A new vendor at fairs in the Anchorage and Fairbanks areas will provide old fashioned soda fountain drinks: Alaska Soda Jerk.
Dressed in period outfits, the “Soda Jerks” will serve classic soda drink favorites such as chocolate egg creams, as well as popular “boardwalk” drinks such as cherry limeade, ocean waters and glacier water.
Other menu favorites will include the “Smokin’ Redhead,” “Seward Shirley” and “Pineapple Express.” Alaska Soda Jerk will provide a fun, retro atmosphere for fairgoers including ’50s music, a diner/soda fountain style booth and soda jerk costumes complete with white shirts, aprons, paper hats and bow ties. “Soda Jerks” will stay true to the serving style of the period, entertaining customers with presentations that will have the crowds stopping to watch.
All Alaska Soda Jerk drinks will be served in 24-ounce cups with a side of peanuts in the shell, most with a scoop of ice cream and flavored syrup, individually hand mixed for each customer.
