Real quick -- right wing Joey Crabb of Anchorage, 29, has signed a one-year, $950,000 deal with the NHL's Washington Caps.
Talked to him this evening -- hey, he's just like you and me, he also has to wait for table at Moose's Tooth -- and there will be a story in the dead-trees edition of the ADN on Tuesday. Crabb signed a one-way deal, meaning he gets paid the $950,000 whether he's in the NHL and AHL, but a one-way deal also indicates the Caps see him as a regular. The $950,000 is a $200,000 raise over what he made with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season, when he enjoyed a breakout season.
Also, former UAF defenseman Jordan Hendry signed with Anaheim and former UAF goaltender Chad Johnson signed with Phoenix. Two-way deal for both, with same amounts -- $600,000 in the NHL, $105,000 in the AHL.
