Michael Conti's 'Solstice': Opening reception 5-7 pm Thursday June 21 at the UAA Student Union Gallery.Michael Conti's 'Solstice': Opening reception 5-7 pm Thursday June 21 at the UAA Student Union Gallery.

Read about what to expect at the show (hint: a camera obscura).

Listen to a podcast here-- Mike Conti explains camera obscura, why solstice (winter and summer) seems to matter so much to Alaskans, and what mindset to bring to the show.

The show will be up June 21-July 12. Summer gallery hours are 11 a.m.-5 pm Monday-Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Fridays. Always free parking on Fridays at UAA.

The cool thing about having the show open on Thursday is you'll be able to celebrate Solstice Wednesday and enjoy the show Thursday. Happy Solstice!
