Competitors and organizers gathered at the William Clark Chamberlin Equestrian Center on Friday, June 15, 2012, before the start of three days of rodeo. I walked the grounds and made portraits of just a few of the people who will be busy riding, roping, racing and dancing. Events begin at 6pm Friday with bull riding and barrel racing, followed by live music and dancing at a nearby tent at an event called Beauty and the Beast. The action continues Saturday with various rodeo competitions starting at 6pm and again Sunday at 2pm during the GMC Truck Rodeo Roundup. More information can be found on the Rodeo Alaska website. Chamberlin Equestrian Center is located on Abbott Road at Ruth Arcand Park.
