Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jillian, a pair of Yorkies who think they're huskies, and Lucy, a sweet Chessie. R.I.P., Rusty. Contact mlewis@adn.com

Here's Anchorage Animal Care and Control's Adoption of the Week, courtesy of Brooke Taylor, AACCC public relations coordinator.

Meet Thunder, a 2 year old, neutered male, husky mix. Friendly, active and energetic, this happy guy is loves people. He's curious and adventuresome, loves his outings, but handles quite easily after some exercise and makes a pleasant walking companion. He's kennel-trained, rides well in the car, and likes balls, ropes and stuffed toys. He also enjoys hugs and attention. He has lived with a cat, dog, and kids, and was friendly with all, and has done very well in Shelter Dog Play Group. Intelligent, a fast learner, with a good-natured, sweet disposition. Very personable guy! Thunder can be adopted for $42, as he is already neutered and current on vaccinations. His adoption fees include his MOA license and microchip. Call 343-8122 for more information.
