New York Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage, who has missed the last 11 playoff games with a lower-body injury, is back in the lineup tonight in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the visiting New Jersey Devils.
Things evidently aren't going very well for the Rangers in front of their home crowd tonight -- the Devils lead 3-0 just 10 minutes into the game after scoring three times on their first five shots. (UPDATE: Looking better for the Rangers halfway through the game -- they scored late in the first period and Dubinsky assisted on Ryan Callahan's goal in the opening minute of the second period; it's 3-2 Devils halfway through. (UPDATE OF THE PREVIOUS UPDATE: Final score -- Devils 5, Rangers 3 (with empty netter) -- Dubinsky logged pretty strong ice time, 15:38, for a guy who hasn't played in a month. One assist, -1 (on the empty-netter), 1 shot on goal, 3 blocked shots).
Dubinsky was injured in Game 7 of a first-round series against Ottawa, missed the entire seven-game series against Washington and is playing for the first time in nearly a month.
