The Blog finally got around to checking out the Central Hockey League playoffs today and saw that former Alaska Aces winger Matt Robinson scored the OT winner for the Wichita Thunder on Monday night for a 3-2 win that eliminated Texas in the semifinals.
That puts the Thunder, the regular-season champs, in the Finals against a team to be determined -- Fort Wayne beat Missouri 4-1 tonight to force Game 7 on Thursday. Four former Aces -- defenseman Dave Pszenyczny, and forwards Patrick Schafer, John-Scott Dickson and Brandon Coccimiglio -- play for Missouri.
Robinson owns 2-4--6 and +2 totals in 11 playoff games after going 34-24--58 and +20 in 64 regular-season games.
Playoff totals for the Missouri boys: Dickson is 6-2--8 and +4 in 10 games; Schafer is 2-2--4 and -1 in 9 games; Pszenyczny is 1-3--4 and +3 in 10 games; and Coccimiglio is 1-1--2 and -1 in 9 games.
