From Casey Grove and Kyle Hopkins in Anchorage --
One person is dead and another taken to the hospital after a shooting at a garage on Fireweed Lane, police said.
A suspect - described as a white male in jeans and a t-shirt, possibly with a European accent and possibly a backpack - walked away and is currently at large, police said.
The shooting happened at R&R Garage, 514 W. Fireweed Lane, about 6 p.m.
Few details were immediately available.
As of 7 p.m., police were looking for a suspect, said spokesman Lt. Dave Parker. An attempt to locate the shooter's trail with a police dog, Diesel, was unsuccessful, Parker said.
Police had taken witnesses to police headquarters and officers were fanned out throughout Midtown.
"They're just collecting witnesses and hauling them off to APD," Parker said.
There was no information immediately available about the shooting victims or a motive.
The garage is across the street from Steller Secondary School and North Star Elementary.
