The British Columbia Hockey League's Trail Smoke Eaters -- one of the all-time great team names, The Blog believes you will agree -- endured a difficult season: At 11-42-7, they finished last in the 16-team league.
But in his final year of junior, Anchorage forward Erik Cooper furnished a strong season with 19-30--49 totals in 60 games to lead the club in all three scoring categories.
That earned Cooper, 20, the honor as the club's Most Valuable Player and Top Scorer when Trail handed out its end-of-season awards earlier this week.
Cooper, as far as The Blog knows, is yet uncommitted to a college hockey program.
