An Oregon man snuck about a pound of weed to Alaska on the ferry from Bellingham and was arrested Sunday in Ketchikan, troopers said.
George Marlin, 24, was carrying 15 ounces of marijuana with a street value of $11,325, troopers said. An un-named Juneau woman accused of carrying an ounce of marijuana also may face charges.
Here's the report from today's trooper logs:
Location: Ketchikan
On 10-23-11 at approximately 0721 hours, Ketchikan SEACAD with the assistance of the Ketchikan Police Department, contacted George Marlow III, 24 of Sutherlin, Oregon and a 60 year old female from Juneau as they arrived in Ketchikan on the Alaska Marine Highway from Bellingham, WA. Incident to the contact, 15 ounces of marijuana was seized from Marlow and one ounce of marijuana was seized from the female. Marlow was arrested and charged with two counts of MICS IV and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center and held without bail pending arraignment. A charge of MICS IV is being forwarded to the District Attorney's Office on the female. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $11,325.00.
