This week's success belongs to my 9-year-old neighbor, Alexa. I've written about her dog here before, a 2-year-old Aussie. I had fears that she wasn't getting enough exercise and was picking up some bad habits.
I'd walked her myself before, and she pulled hard at the leash. I didn't trust her off-leash.
Well, as Alexa has grown up she's taken a new interest in working with Bella. She walks her regularly. She takes her to our dog meetups. She's taught her to sit, stay, come and a few tricks.
Today I walked Bella for the first time in a long time, and she was a delight on leash. She never pulled, she came into a heel when I called her. At the park with no one around, I dropped her leash and let her drag it. She explored close by, but she came running to me every time I called.
I love success stories like that. Alexa put in some effort and it really paid off.
What's up with your pack?
