Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jillian, a pair of Yorkies who think they're huskies, and Lucy, a sweet Chessie. R.I.P., Rusty. Contact mlewis@adn.com

AACCC adoption of the Week: Meet Nala

NalaNala

Here's Anchorage Animal Care and Control's Adoption of the Week, courtesy of Brooke Taylor, AACCC public relations coordinator.

Please meet Nala, a year old, spayed female, husky/shepherd mix. Active, spirited, happy and good-natured, Nala still has a lot of the puppy about her. She’s very energetic, rides well in the car, likes chew toys, balls, being around people and being outside. She may be too rambunctious for really small kids. She’s responsive, a fast learner, and would do well in training classes. She’d like an active home that can provide lots of exercise, attention and structure. Special thanks to Ravenwood Vet Clinic in Eagle River for providing Nala’s spay surgery free of charge and reducing her adoption fee by $80! Nala can now be adopted for $72, which includes her MOA license, vaccinations, and microchip. Call 343-8122 for more information.
