Midnight Sun Madness: MMA in Fairbanks. PRIDE rules. Outdoors. FREE TO ATTEND. Guess where I'll be June 19th?
UFC veteran Rob 'The Monster' Yundt has pulled out of the main event at Midnight Sun Madness, a PRIDE rules event set for June 19th at the Big I in Fairbanks. He was set to fight Fairbanks kickboxer Collin Reuter at 170 lbs. Yundt cited scheduling conflicts with his job on the North Slope as the reason for his withdrawl.
Stepping into the ring with Fairbanks native Reuter will be Alex 'Spider' Trevino. Trevino amassed an impressive 3-1 record in Strikeforce, and has never fought in Alaska before.
The card for Midnight Sun Madness continues to develop, as they have recently added an exciting heavyweight match between Fairbanks' Pat Lumba and Gracie Barra's Jared Cannonier, an interesting brawl featuring wrestler 'Sweaty' Eddie Hoch vs. striker Derek 'D-Wreck' Chalifour, and a pivotal featherweight match-up pitting Fairbanks' Jesse 'The Saint' Kueber and Frontier Vale Tudo's Maurice 'The AK Kid' Mitchell. Kueber and Mitchell are the last two Alaskans to lose the champion Doug Evans.
