From Bill White --
USA Today has an article today about the relative health of Anchorage's housing market -- relative to the real estate disaster in some parts of the country.
The article says what we've reported here several times:
Although Anchorage has seen some home foreclosures, it has largely been spared most of the epidemic.
Among the article's points:
-- House sales have slumped after perking up earlier this year with first-time buyers tapping the tax credit that since has expired.
-- Prices have softened to the levels of about three years ago.
The article has three charts comparing Anchorage and Alaska sales and prices with national averages.
