Anchorage Recyclers are Organizing a FLASH MOB!

America Recycles Day is coming soon! And to mark the occasion and create some buzz about recycling, a group of recyclers and recycling advocates are organizing a flash mob. What's that? The official definition of a flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and somewhat pointless act for a brief time, then disperse.

The message? "I Recycle!"

If you want to help put America Recycles Day on everyone's radar and have some fun by joining the flash mob, here are the details.

The event will be on Saturday, November 6. Flash mobbers will gather at 11:30 am for instructions and the flash mob will happen at 12:30 pm.

It's all happening at the Dena’ina Convention Center, 7th and F, downtown, during the Holiday Food and Gift Festival. Flash mobbers should meet up on the 2nd Level Lobby

Bring with you a coat or sweatshirt to cover the totally cool GREEN Reduce, Reuse, Recycle T-Shirt you will receive! That's not hard to remember, considering how cold it'll probably be by then.

The whole thing will only last a few minutes but the payoff will be huge. The flash mob will create the unexpected for a full crowd of festival goers. There will be three video cameras at the event and it will go on YouTube by the next day!
