This is the place to talk about Alaska politics, state, local, national. Public life in the Last Frontier has rarely been more interesting -- a full slate of federal and state elections, the influence of former Gov. Sarah Palin, the usual hardball Alaska politics. Young endorsing neither Miller nor Murkowski

From David Hulen in Anchorage --

Rep. Don Young isn't endorsing Joe Miller or Lisa Murkowski in the race for U.S. Senate. An update posted on Young's Facebook page says the congressman will work with whoever wins.

"Joe Miller is the Republican nominee and normally I would support the nominee," the Facebook post says. "But I have a long history of working with Sen. Murkowski and a personal history with the Murkowski family which is very important to me. I am focusing on my own election but no matter who wins, I am committed to working with Alaska's 2 senators as I’ve always done in the past."

The Alaska Republican's views on the Senate race was first reported Friday evening by the Alaska Public Radio Network. In an interview with APRN, Young said he was disappointed in the low turnout in Alaska's August primaries, and said he'd like to move that election to spring or October. Listen to it here.
