KENAI (AP) — Two men accused of using a "redneck flamethrower" when setting a boy's hair on fire have entered guilty pleas.

Jonathon M. Miller will be sentenced in May after pleading to a count of assault in the November incident. The district attorney says Stephen R. Dilly has pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and violating a restraining order, and will serve two years in jail.

Miller was the current boyfriend of the boy's mother and Dilly is an ex-husband of the woman.

The two men were baby-sitting when they set the 5-year-old boy's hair on fire with what they called a "redneck flamethrower."

They lit an aerosol spray on fire and aimed it at the boy in an attempt to scare him to toughen him up.

The boy's hair was singed, and he suffered burns on the side of his face. The men called it an accident.
