Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jillian, a pair of Yorkies who think they're huskies, and Lucy, a sweet Chessie. R.I.P., Rusty. Contact mlewis@adn.com

Adoption of the week: Meet Tsunami

Update 11/17: Tsunami passes the Canine Good Citizen Test!

To help us celebrate November as “Adopt-a-Senior-Pet” month, we would like you to meet Tsunami. She is a senior Lab mix, though we don’t have an exact age on her. Tsunami is a great example of many of the wonderful qualities you find in older pets.  She is a very sweet girl, laid back and gentle. She is eager to see visitors at her kennel and is great on walks.  She already knows some commands, such as “sit”, and did wonderfully in Shelter Dog Playgroup with all the other dogs.  She can be adopted for $72*, which includes, MOA license, vaccinations, and microchip.

* Tsunami's adoption cost dropped from $142 because it turns out she's already spayed!
